We docked in Messina, Sicily on Monday morning.....the
home of the Godfather! Of course, we just had to track down the best
cannoli in the town of Taormina for breakfast. I tried to make him
an offer he couldn't refuse....but he refused!
The seven hour excursion took us to the coastline town
of Taormina for a stroll through the luxury shops and a peak at the
Greek Theatre.
Afterwards, we headed to the Barone Di Villagrande
winery situated on the hills of Mt. Etna (the tallest
mountain/volcano in Europe). After enjoying lots of free wine....and
bruschetta, paninis, and huge olives....we visited a large lava flow
from the last eruption. Trust us....go to Hawaii to see a lava flow!
Sicily better stick to the cannoli's.
