Another highlight of Johannesburg was our visit to SAB World of Beer! This is a huge museum dedicated to exploring the history of Africa's beer culture....transporting you from the beginnings of Castle Lager and the story of Charles Glass, into the tombs of Egypt and mining townships of Johannesburg's early days. Believe it or not, this museum was the number 1 tourist attraction in 2009 and 2011 in South Africa.
The interactive beer tour gave us a chance to do a few things.....1.) taste African sorghum beer (called Umqombothi) which is pugent and sour brew, 2.) tasted three different types of barley malts (lager, lite, and brown malt), and 3.) enjoy 6 full glasses of SAB's finest beers in the Tap Room.....talk about a good time!
Speaking of beers around the world.....we've collected quite a few pictures of some of the brews we've tried in each of our summer destinations. And, since we've been warned about drinking the water over here in Africa....we've had to rely on beer! I know, it's sounds tough.....but we're handling it very well. Check these beers out!

We don't actually drink all that beer...we just buy the bottles and take pictures of it for this blog! How awesome is that? :)
Jenesa’s not bringing home any souvenir mugs is she???
