Sightseeing in Ephesus

Another scorcher today (99 degrees!) as we dock in Ephesus, Turkey.....or as they call it Turkiye!  We booked two different excursions today.  The morning sightseeing adventure began with a bus ride high into the mountains to visit the final home of the Virgin Mary.

The stone home is the size of my garage (at best)....with a shrine located on the back wall to the Virgin Mary.  The one thing that stood out to Jenesa and I was the prayer wall below the house.  The pathway leads you to an area where you can light a candle and say a prayer.

You can also write a prayer and post it on the wall.  Kinda reminds us of the Romeo and Juliet wall in Verona, Italy where tourists can post love notes in the archway leading to Juliet's apartment perch. We prayed for cooler weather....
