Rub A Dub Dub!

Our afternoon excursion in Turkey was a trip to the Turkish Baths!  Jenesa twisted my arm to go along.  I don't like people touching me....especially when I have to pay for it.....but I figured it would be a first and last for me!  And, we're in Turkey....why not?

It works like this.....they lead you into a large marble sauna (we've never sweat so much - ever!) where you're supposed to stay for 15-20 minutes.  Phew!  I felt like I was in a gas chamber.....almost to the point I couldn't breathe.  Jenesa left the room 3 times for air!  After your 20 minute "warm-up"....three DUDES walk into the room and have you lie down on the marble counter in the middle of the room.  One guy massages you with olive oil using a mitt.  After his rub down....you move to the next guy who sands your feet with a hard sponge.  Finally, a real old hairy dude finishes your bathing experience by slapping you around and giving you a bubble bath (while lying down) using what looks like a blown up pillow case.  I liked the bubble treatment, until he criss-crossed my arms in front of my chest and nearly broke my back!  Wow!

Jenesa decided to "splurge" for an extra olive oil full-body rub-down.  I decided to sit and have a refreshing Turkish brew!
