Roaming Rome

We now know why they named this city Rome. Sooner or later....you're bound to get lost....and when you do....you'll spend the rest of your day “Roaming” around the gazillion streets hoping the madness will end. Enter the Leonard's!

We were dropped off at our hotel bright and early (way too early), which caused us a bit of trouble when trying to check in. They said our room wouldn't be ready for a few hours....go explore Rome and come back after lunch. So we headed off through the streets of Rome in search of a few things we missed seeing on our Grand Europe tour a few years ago.

We hiked...and hiked...and hiked. The hotel gave us a tourist map and directed us towards the Colosseum. This would be a good starting point for our day. 15-20 minute walk from the hotel.....TOPS! Well, after 45 minutes we started to think that the darned thing no longer existed! And, Jenesa made it known that she needed water at least thirty times during our walk. The drama of it all!

And, then....it appeared!

We toured the Colosseum on our last visit to Rome....waited FOREVER to get in.....and had little time to see anything else around that area of the city. This time we planned to skip the Colosseum craziness and make our way through the Roman Forum that was immediately beside the Colosseum to explore the famous ancient ruins.
